PARIS/64 INTRODUCES

Roots

A Mother’s legacy.

Roots are what connect us with our deepest being. With the meaning of our existence.
With this premise, we wanted to give voice on such a special day as Mother's Day, to 5 families we admire.

It is a very moving VIDEO campaign where the protagonists tell their personal stories about the meaning of family Roots and the value of motherhood.

A campaign by Beatriz Gaspar y Alex Figueira.

We are greatful to all the people who have made this possible, Beatriz Gaspar, Alex FigueiraAlejandro de la Rosa, María Rosenfeldt daughter of Ouka Leele, Camila and Mercedes of Studio Erhart , Laura Cano and Ana Ibañez. To all the families and to the styling, camera assistants, makeup. THANK YOU.

We encourage you to join this reflection on motherhood from the point of view of the meaning of family.

Family roots are clearly reflected in our identity. Thanks to them, we know who we are, where we come from, and where we want to go. With our roots, we understand our connection to the rest of humanity. They are our lighthouse in life, they allow us to keep our feet on the ground, and our head in the sky.

Mothers, family, is what gives us life, the first human contact we have since we are born, and they are the place where we belong.

Family stories that connect us to our true essence.

JOURNALIST AND COMMUNICATIONS EXPERT

Alejandro de la Rosa

Creator of the gastronomic Instagram account @quenomeladenconqueso

Alejandro introduces us to his most authentic family roots. He does it with his mother, Ana, and his grandmother, Ángela. An endearing family, capable of transmitting a mutual devotion, which is palpable in each of their eyes and in the many gestures of love they profess to each other.

For Alex, his mother and grandmother perfectly represent his roots, with them he keeps the best childhood memories. “They are the anchor that keeps my feet on the ground”, he says. For Alex, the most important thing is to be clear about where he is going, but without losing sight of where he comes from, something his mother instilled in him from a very young age. For him, returning home every few years and reconnecting with his family has become something vital and very necessary.

For Alex, his mother means the place to always return to, a refuge. Precisely, something he has inherited from his roots is the enormous value of family. The importance of building a hard core to care for and rely on.

THE PRINCESS OF DOMESTIC MYSTIQUE, OUKA LEELE

María Rosenfeldt

Maria is a true artist, like her mother, Barbara Allende, Ouka Leele. María lost Bárbara almost 2 years ago. She also wants to share what it means to live a day like this after her painful loss: "For me, the roots are the way to return to the inner center, to an axis when you are lost. All that gives you a foundation, to be the person you are right now. My mother was my favorite person.”

My mother raised me alone, I was an only child, so for me she was everything: mother, father, everything in my life. Most of all, I learned from her the freedom to live, to make decisions and to work. I spent so much time talking with my mother about life, love, death, that it gave me peace. I was with her until the last moment. And that makes me happy.

It is also a day of celebration. Because all of them, those who are gone, live on in their children. Because for them, Mother's Day is every day.

STUDIO ERHART

Camila y Mercedes

Camila and Mercedes, from Studio Erhart, tell us about the importance of being mothers, colleagues, partners, and the role played by the values and traditions they both share, as well as their love for the pursuit of beauty in life.

C: "Now that I am a mother, I am beginning to see things in her that perhaps I didn't see so much before: her patience, how loving she has always been. What unites us the most is the search for beautiful things, from setting a table, to decorating it, in people, in music, in art. In general, looking through that beautiful prism."

M: "I always lacked roots, because with my parents we lived in many places around the world, moving around, and from there they instilled in me a lot of the feeling of family. The path as a mother, I would describe as gratitude."

WRITER AND PAINTER

Laura Cano

Laura Cano, an artist well known for her incredible portraits, introduces us to her mother, Beni, a hilarious woman. They form a wonderful combo of laughter and joy together.

For Laura, the roots are the people. Between the two of them, they have an amazing connection, and although they don't talk much to each other daily, as they tell us, when they call or see each other, they talk in a very deep way. "From my mother I have learned not to give importance to things that are not important. To put things into perspective.”

For Beni, Laura's mother, a mother and a family, are like the tree that supports a person, and keeps them attached to the meaning of life. B: "Without roots, you can't walk. They are the most important thing in life.”

DIRECTOR OF MIND STUDIO

Ana Ibáñez

Ana Ibáñez, director of Mind Studio, accompanied by her daughter Chloé, talks about roots as an unconditional love. For her it is something that passes from generation to generation, that is inherited. It is the soul in which the family is recognized in everyone. “Being a mother awakens in a person an instinct, a discovery, a constant curiosity, and that fills me with pride every day.”.

For Ana, being a mother is the word LIFE, in capital letters. "It's hard to describe the meaning of being a mother, until you live it."

Chloé, one of Ana's daughters, feels that the roots are her mother and her family, they are all those traditions passed down to her by her mother that connect her to her ancestors. For her, life is about experiences and the people who love you, you always feel close to them. They are your essential support.
